IT Support Technician

Primary Purpose:
The primary responsibility of the IT Support Technician is to provide repair assistance for Chromebooks, laptops, desktops, iPads, and third-party tablets, including inventory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
* High School Diploma or GED
* Six months or more of related technical experience
* Chromebook/Desktop/Laptop/iPad certification is required within 1 year of hire or ineligible for a promotion to a campus Technology Specialist I
Preferred:
Associate degree in a technical area from an accredited college or university
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
* Experience troubleshooting and repairing hardware and software issues on a variety of devices such as computers, laptops, tablets, and mobile devices
* Familiarity with operating systems, including Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android
* Experience in setting up and configuring hardware and software for end-users
* Understanding of security best practices and protocols to protect systems and data
* Strong communication skills to interact effectively with end-users and other team members
* Recognize, address, and complete all assigned tickets per the currently established Service Level Agreement
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
* Conduct repairs and troubleshooting for Chromebooks, laptops, desktops, and iPads
* Utilize ticketing systems to manage and respond to technical support requests efficiently
* Adhere to the necessary procedures for device repairs
* Sometimes assist the Campus Technology Specialist with maintaining the cleanliness of data closets at their respective campus(es)
* Assist in the deployment and support of hardware and software at designated campuses
* Assist the Asset Management team in performing district audits
* Perform inventory control duties as necessary
Communication:
* Maintain confidentiality of privileged and sensitive information when received and distributed to appropriate designees as directed by the Director of Technology
* Provide outstanding customer service
* Maintain good judgment and decision-making when dealing with supervisors, co-workers, employees, students and parents, vendors, and the general public
Equipment Used:
Computer, printer, copier, telephone, scanner, bar code scanner, and fax machine
