We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Technical Writer - Engineering to create and maintain a variety of technical documentation, including user manuals, system specifications, installation guides, API documentation, and troubleshooting materials. This role requires an individual with a strong technical background who can work closely with engineers to transform complex technical concepts into easily understandable content for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Primary Responsibilities

• Write and edit high-quality technical documents, including user manuals, system architecture, installation guides, release notes, API documentation, and more.

• Work closely with engineers, developers, and other stakeholders to understand technical concepts and ensure documentation is accurate and comprehensive.

• Gather, analyze, and organize technical information from various sources (such as software, hardware, and engineering teams) to produce clear and user-friendly documentation.

• Regularly update and revise existing documents to ensure they reflect the latest product releases, improvements, and features.

• Ensure all documents adhere to company standards, style guides, and best practices for technical writing.

• Review and edit technical content for clarity, grammar, accuracy, and consistency.

• Tailor content to meet the needs of different audiences, such as developers, end-users, and administrators.

• Manage and track the versioning of technical documentation to ensure it aligns with product updates and releases.

• Collaborate with engineering teams to verify accuracy and functionality of documentation, particularly in complex system configurations and installations.

• Stay updated on industry trends, tools, and best practices for technical writing and documentation management.

Professional Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technical Communication, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Proven experience (2+ years) as a technical writer in an engineering or technology environment.

• Strong understanding of engineering concepts and technical processes, ideally with familiarity in [specific engineering disciplines, e.g., software development, hardware systems, etc.].

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a strong ability to explain complex technical information clearly.

• Experience with documentation tools such as MadCap Flare, Adobe FrameMaker, Confluence, Microsoft Word, or similar software.

• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and content management systems (CMS).

• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong attention to detail, with a commitment to delivering accurate and high-quality content.

• Knowledge of API documentation (e.g., Swagger, Postman) and familiarity with software documentation standards is a plus.

• Experience with Agile development processes.

• Familiarity with HTML, XML, or other markup languages.

• Understanding of technical illustrations and visual content creation tools.

• Experience working in Cloud Computing, DevOps, or Networking fields.

This is a full-time position with hours dictated by business needs. This position will report to the Quality Director.
