Director of Parish Giving

Summary: The Director of Parish Giving: is a full-time, exempt position which is eligible for the full suite of employee benefits including health insurance and a retirement savings plan. reports to the Chief of Staff (currently Ted Gobillot). has a regular work schedule of Monday through Thursday from 8:30 am until 5:00 pm and Sunday mornings from 8:00 am until noon; provided that this schedule will occasionally vary. Principal Responsibilities: Below is a list of the principal responsibilities of the Director of Parish Giving: develop and implement the Church's annual stewardship campaign including activities such as branding strategies, planning with stakeholders such as clergy, senior staff and the Generosity Committee, scheduling events and communications to the parish. develop an expertise with the Church's database called Ministry Platform in order to collect, analyze and interpret critical stewardship data. communicate with clergy and senior staff regarding stewardship strategy and data analysis. develop and implement the Church's other stewardship programs such as legacy giving via The Sumners Legacy Society and The Memorial Endowment Fund. assist the Director of Master Campus Plan with the capital campaign. respond to parishioners regarding stewardship questions. coordinate with the finance department regarding year-end pledge collection efforts. distribute quarterly and annual financial statements to parishioners. coordinate stewardship receptions and other acts of appreciation. Qualifications for the Position: Below is a list of the principal qualifications of the Director of Parish Giving: technical proficiency with software platforms such as Ministry Platform. ability to manipulate excel spreadsheets and other sources of information in order to ascertain critical data, communicate the data to clergy and senior staff and adjust stewardship strategies in light of such data. motivation to build and maintain meaningful, authenticate Christian relationships including working on Sunday mornings in order to engage parishioners. experience with fundraising particularly in the non-profit sector. ability and motivation to work effectively as part of a leadership team. strong interpersonal skills. excellent written and verbal communication skills. ability to handle highly confidential information with discretion. organized, curious and team-first perspective. commitment to support the mission of The Church of St. John the Divine.
