Finance Assistant

Primary Purpose:

Give support to the CFO for preparation of statements, reports, and procedures. Assist in all finance matters including Federal/State program, payroll and budget.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

Bachelors Degree in Business/Accounting with working knowledge

of Accounting and/or bookkeeping.

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Experience in accounting and/or bookkeeping

Knowledge of financial systems, including Skyward Business Application, and budgetary control

Ability to work calmly under pressure and keep all deadlines

Ability to work in busy office environment that often demands high levels of concentration

Ability to respond effectively to changing priorities

Ability to work independently but also as part of a small team

Good level of competence in Excel, Access, Word, Outlook and computerized finance software.

Good math skills with analytical ability and problem solving.

Ability to create forms and reports using Microsoft Access involving computation

Effective communication, both written and verbal

Organized and willing to accept responsibility to carryout changing demands of the job.

Experience:

1-3 years experience in finance/accounting with exposure to Governmental or Fund Accounting preferred.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

* Work closely with the CFO to ensure smooth operation of all finance matters.

* Prepare or assists in preparing various financial statements, spreadsheets, Federal/State Program reports and correspondence as required.

* Prepare various payroll documents for payroll processing.

* May enter/validate data in Skyward Business Application.

* May initiate new procedures in accounting/business systems.

* Resolution of finance/budget related questions from auditors or budget managers

* Assist with end of year audit preparation, budget, and payroll.

* Provide support to team members as needed.

* Any other duties that may be deemed appropriate to this role by the CFO

* A certain level of flexibility regarding availability outside normal working hours is required.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Minimal.

Personal computer, printer, fax machine, scanner, copier, and calculator.
