Job Description

A Texas-based real estate investment firm is seeking a Finance Associate to support portfolio management and fund administration with a primary focus on debt-related functions. This role reports to the Controller/CFO and is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with experience in financial statements, loan statements, and debt management. The position offers significant growth potential for a driven, self-motivated professional.

Responsibilities:

• Track and maintain portfolio and asset-level performance with an emphasis on debt obligations
• Assist in annual portfolio budgets and variance analysis
• Manage loan terms, including covenant testing, debt service requirements, and maturity schedules
• Prepare refinancing and disposition summaries
• Support investor relations with performance reporting and inquiries
• Review operating partner and fund-level waterfalls
• Oversee housing affordability compliance reporting
• Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements for the management company
• Monitor and manage cash flow, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
• Coordinate debt placements and work directly with lenders on loan documentation and compliance

The Successful Applicant

Seeking motivated candidates with a Bachelor's degree and roughly 2 to 5 years of real estate industry experience, with a strong background in debt management. Can come from a real estate developer/investment manager but also open to candidates from commercial banking looking to pivot to the principal side.

• Proficiency in financial statement preparation and loan statement analysis
• Strong financial analysis and real estate fundamentals knowledge
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
