Job Description:
The Business Analyst will assist in the implementation of solutions to business problems within EDF's installation of OpenLink Endur. They will work directly with business users to understand their business processes and their usage of the system and will leverage their application expertise to design and implement improvements and new functionality in the system to solve business problems. They will produce documentation to support projects to implement their recommended solutions, which will include requirements documents, use cases, process diagrams, and test plans. They will also provide general system support for all users of the Endur application, which will include monitoring/resolution of job failures and investigation of trade booking/processing issues reported by users. This role will require periodic after hours work to support deployments of new functionality and to support the resolution of critical production issues and requires approximately one week per month on after-hours on call rotation.
Responsibilities:
- Work directly with key business users, business leads, and project sponsors, being able to communicate effectively with different levels and disciplines within the organization.
- Act as a liaison with business users and the Endur team to resolve any issues and serve as the internal point of contact for status and clarifications.
- Develop and evaluate user requirements and assist in implementing working solutions through system design, analysis, testing, training, and documentation.
- Perform evaluations of business solutions to identify pain points, process gaps, and incremental enhancements and work collaboratively with them to implement fit of purpose solutions.
- Provide technical assistance and support for applications, troubleshoot and resolve user issues, escalate complex problems to senior staff, document resolutions
- Own problems, make fast decisions, cope with the unknown and have the ability to acquire new knowledge quickly.
- Develop project plans including scope, schedule, budget, and resource plans and then monitor and track project status and results to that plan.
- Proactively identify, document, and resolve project risks and issues.
- Develop and deliver documentation and ensure that relevant information is communicated appropriately to project leadership in order to meet project milestones and tasks
- Develop and implement test plans based on business requirements.
- Provide after-hours support as needed and participate in the after-hours on call rotation.
Requirements:
- Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Business, or related field is required.
- 0 - 5 years' experience in IT project management, business analysis, and/or technical development.
- 0 - 5 years' experience in implementation or support of OpenLink Endur ETRM system
- Working knowledge of energy commodities trading is strongly preferred
- Knowledge of relational database designs and implementations.
- Desire and aptitude to learn and understand new and emerging technologies.
- Must have advanced knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project.
- Competency in Visio or other process diagramming tools desired.
- Competency in modern client DBMS tools desired.
- Able to meet deadlines with limited supervision.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- The ability to work independently or on a team exhibiting excellent multi-tasking skills.
- Strong organizational, analytical, as well as oral and written communication skills.
- Strong sense of ownership and accountability of tasks.
- A creative, innovative, analytical approach to problem solving is fundamental.
- Experience in supporting a 7 X 24 hour environment.
- Willing to travel as necessary.
